Korean e-Zone NEV To Be Made in Alabama?

CT&T Korea, in South Korea, has developed a neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV) called the e-Zone. Pictured above, this goofy little car is the vanguard of CT&T’s planned fleet of electrics to span the U.S. market from “city drive vehicles” (aka neighborhood electrics) all the way to full-speed, highway-ready cars, light trucks, and more.

Electrovaya Announces New Maya 300 NEV

Shaped very similar to the iMiEV, this car made its debut in 2008. Since then, the Maya 300 has been undergoing road and technology testing and is now ready to hit the streets at large.

Video: Smart ForTwo Crash Test at IIHS

The little car did surprisingly well, all told. The commentary from the “expert” in this video is a bit annoying, but he’s being realistic. The speeds at which the Smart ForTwo is likely to be involved in collisions, however, negate a lot of the supposition data he presumes. Since the Smart is an NEV, it won’t likely get into high speed collisions.

Wheego Whip to Begin Shipping in May

Wheego, a division of RTEV, is now taking orders at their Atlanta, Georgia headquarters for shipments of the Wheego Whip NEV (Neighborhood Electric Vehicle or LSV - Low Speed Vehicle), which will begin shipping in May.

The GEM Peapod Mobility, Chrysler’s NEV Concept

This little car has been buzzing around the ‘Net for a few days now, after it’s debut in the U.S. at the New York Auto Show earlier in April. It’s made by GEM, who is owned by Chrysler, and is, in function, about what you expect from a neighborhood electric.
myCar NEV To Give G-Wiz Some Competition in London

The Italian-designed myCar CV.2 is available for sale in the UK through Eu Auto Stores in London. The little Hong Kong-made car is a 2-seater NEV that directly competes with the Reva G-Wiz, which is highly popular in London.

The Wheego Whip from Ruff and Tuff Electric Vehicles (RTEV) is now available for pre-order in the U.S. and Canada. The NEV has some great features for such a low price tag (just under $19,000) and will begin delivering this May.

Tazzari Zero Gets North American Distributor

The Tazzari Zero electric city car hasn’t been in the spotlight much, but that’s about to change. The company has announced that a December 2009 launch date will be facilitated by their new North American distributor: Verdek.

More Information Available on the BG C100 Electric Car
