Los Angeles, New York City to Receive Fleet of Mini Es

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has just announced that the City of New York is set to receive a fleet of Mini Es from BMW as part of a feasibility study for electric vehicles. And New York isn’t the only city set to receive electric Mini’s - BMW has also announced that several other cities will be participating in the study and receiving vehicles, including Los Angeles, London, and Berlin.

Want a Mini-E? Too Bad

The Field Trial for the Mini-E electric car is the only time you’ll see this little EV in production. Many were extremely excited about this little car going electric and it generated a lot of hype. BMW decided to deflate that hype and show everyone that the Germans are not at all interested in actually selling a car people want. So the technology the Mini E is testing will be used, instead, in another BMW model and a Mini-E production car will not be made available.
