Mercedes-Benz unveiled its Citaro FuelCELL Hybrid at the UITP World Congress and Mobility & City Transport Exhibition in Vienna earlier this month. The bus is hydrogen powered and has so far shown good performance during fleet testing.
Mercedes Testing New Hybrid Bus Equipped With World’s Largest Lithium Battery

Mercedez-Benz has begun tests of a new hybrid bus dubbed the Citaro G Bluetec Hybrid, which it claims is equipped with the world’s largest EV lithium battery pack. The battery pack weighs 771 pounds and provides 180 kW to the bus’ motors.

Hybrid Buses Coming to London by 2011

London is famous for its double-decker buses (among other things). When you see a two-deck, red bus you assume it’s a London bus. Well, a couple hundred of those buses are going hybrid.
