CARB To Grant $6.8 Million for Hydrogen Refueling Stations
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has announced that they will be issuing a grant for $1.7 million each to four organizations to build hydrogen refueling stations. Those four organizations are: The San Francisco Airport, Shell Hydrogen, Mebtahi Station Services, and UCLA.
These hydrogen refueling stations will be used for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles like the Honda FCX Clarity and will be open to the public and operate much like normal gasoline stations. This will effectively double the amount of hydrogen available to the California public for refueling.

Honda’s FCX Clarity: Hydrogen-Electric Hybrid

Honda’s FCX has been around for quite a while, being tested, refined, and re-tested on the streets of California and Japan. The car was first introduced in 1999 as a concept based on the Honda Accord platform. Soon, it evolved as the concept was engineered and tested, being released as the Clarity in 2002.
