Lumeneo SMERA EV Now on Sale in France, Soon to Hit All of EU

Built in France by Lumeneo, the SMERA is a tiny electric car that sells for about 24,500 Euros ($33,000USD). The little EV debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 2008 and has made some touring around Europe. The car is now available in France and will soon be available throughout the European Union.

Citroen to Launch Green Brand

At the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, Citroen announced the DS line of ultra-efficient cars. Now, they are announcing a fully “green” line of cars, starting with a new version of the C-Cactus concept debuted in Frankfurt in 2007.

Geneva Motor Show: Pininfarina and Bollore B0 Pre-Orders Open

Pininfarina has started a list of pre-order customers for the upcoming B0 electric car (pronounced B Zero), which they are building in partnership with Bollore. The 5-door hatchbacks will lease for 330 Euros per month and this includes 24 hour roadside assistance.

Geneva Motor Show: NV200 Coming to America

On the tail of recent announcements by Nissan regarding their push for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) comes the announcement at the Show that the NV2500 and NV200 (both of which unveiled in Geneva this week) will be slated for possible U.S. releases next year.

Geneva Motor Show 2009: Rinspeed’s E2 & iChange Debuts

The concepts from Rinspeed this year are both “ya, ya, it’s an EV” and “holy crap, that’s awesome!” The E2 being the former and the iChange being the latter.

Geneva Motor Show 2009: Ruf Debuts Greenster eRuf Porsche

Last year, Ruf (the Porche high performance tuners) announced a prototype electric Porsche 911. The latest incarnation of that is the Greenster, a targa top 911 with several improvements: including electrics.

Geneva Auto Show 2009: Magna Steyr Unveiling Mila EV Concept

Magna Steyr announced in February that they were going to unveil their latest EV concept, the MILA EV. The Austrian firm (a unit of Canadian Magna International) is hoping the concept will showcase the advanced technology capabilities Magna has to offer–the car will not likely see production.

The Geneva Motor Show, the annual Swiss auto show, opened on Thursday (March 5th) and will run until Sunday the fifteenth. The show promises to debut a lot of new models, innovations, and more and is the most looked-to auto show in Europe.
