Next Year’s Detroit Auto Show to Feature Multi-Maker EV Area

In mid-January, America’s largest auto show, the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, will take place. The show will feature the usual suspects and showcases, but will have a special addition: a multi-manufacturer/maker electric vehicles area called “Electric Avenue.”

Kia Introduces Three New Hybrids at Frankfurt Motor Show

Kia Motors introduced three new hybrid models at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. These are the Cee’d prototype, the Sorento prototype, and the Forte LPI Hybrid for Europe (it hit Korea in July). Kia also introduced their EcoDynamics sub-brand for their new hybrid line of vehicles.

New Cars Introduced at Frankfurt Motor Show

The Frankfurt Motor Show is shaping up to be a big one with a lot of European and Asian models debuting, especially as car makers perfect their 2010 models for introduction. This year has several great options in EVs and hybrids.

Mercedes-Benz Chairman: Hundreds of Thousands of Hydrogen Cars Coming

At the opening of the press events for the Frankfurt Auto Show, Dieter Zetsche, the chairman of Mercedes-Benz showed off the new F-Cell production concept and said that hydrogen cars would be coming in the “hundreds of thousands” over the next few years from a variety of manufacturers.

Volkswagen’s New E-Up EV Concept, Both Good and Bad

Volkswagen introduced their new E-Up! concept vehicle at the Frankfurt Motor Show Tuesday, promising production in 2013. The little car has some very innovative points and what some seem to think are down sides I see as bonuses.

Renault’s 3 New Electric Cars (+video), Swappable Batteries, and Better Place

Renault has announced that they’ll be unveiling three new electric vehicles at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show this September. One is the production-ready Fluence (Megane) EV (above) and the Kangoo EV (both slated for a 2011 release) while the third is a concept yet to be unveiled and expected to hit the market in 2012.

Lexus Preparing to Release a Premium Subcompact in Europe

The Prius may gain a new cousin at Toyota’s premium car company, Lexus. Lexus is preparing a new hatchback model to debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. This model will be available only as a Prius-based hybrid and likely based on the HS 250h.
