Honda CR-Z Concept Hybrid Sports Car Slated For 2010 Production

As promised, the CR-Z, the car Honda says is the world’s first series-production sports hybrid car from a major OEM, is in its 2009 incarnation and is the likely prototype to be what the 2010 production will look like. The new car is slated to go on sale in 2010 as a 2011 model.

Honda Promises Hybrid Minivan by 2011 and Full EVs by 2015

Honda president Takanobu Ito promised a Japanese newspaper that the company will have a hybrid version of its Freed minivan in 2011 and that the company will be producing full electrics for sale by 2015.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Funding Slashed From New DOE/Obama Budget

The much-touted “green” President, Obama, has OK’d a slash in the Department of Energy’s research funding budget for 2010. In the typical short-sightedness of government types, DoE Secretary Chu said that because “these vehicles are 10 to 20 years away,” they aren’t as imperative as battery electric technology.

NY Auto Show: Honda FCX Clarity Wins World Green Car of the Year

The Honda FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel-cell car won this year’s World Car of the Year Award. The panel of jurors from around the world’s automotive magazines gave the coveted award to the Clarity after considering all three finalists on merits of environmental impact, innovation, and style.
