Optare Introduces Solo EV Electric Bus

Optare PLC, a UK-based company, has just announced their new Solo EV battery electric bus. The Solo EV electric bus comes in several sizes, and is a new addition to their already-existing Solo line of buses.

Electric Flight Symposium Coming in April

The Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, California, will be hosting the Electric Aircraft Symposium on April 24th. It’s an all-day affair featuring speakers like Dr. Yi Cui (nanowire batteries), Sebastian Thrun (autonomous vehicles and AI) and others in various fields relating to EVs–especially airborne ones.

I personally find these websites extremely useful in my own research when I write my articles or look for new content to write about. Normally I’d just put them in our links page and leave it at that, but these websites are so useful that I think everyone who is an EV buff should know about them.

Balqon Begins Production of New Electric “Goats” (Port Drayage Trucks) For San Pedro Ports

Balqon Corporation has begun production of 30-ton all-electric, heavy duty drayage trucks for San Pedro Bay, California’s port complex. The truck, called the Nautilus E30, is a short-haul container mover (commonly called “Goats” or “Hostlers”) capable of moving 30-ton (60,000 pound) cargo containers at speeds up to 40mph with a 30-60 mile range per charge (depending on average haul).

Electric Buses Coming Soon to a Road Near You

FedEx Express and Modec Unveil New Fleet Electric Vehicle

Express transportation giant FedEx Corp. and electric vehicle manufacturer Modec have announced a new fleet electric delivery vehicle that they plan to roll out for use in the United Kingdom over the next several months. Modec is due to deliver an initial 10 vehicles for trial in the UK, which will initially operate in the London metro area.
