Green GT Racer Unveiled at Energissima in Switzerland

At the Swiss Show of Renewable Energy and New Technologies (Energissima), Green GT showcased its new prototype FIA-spec racer. This all-electric race car prototype has two water-cooled 100kW motors giving 1,475 lb ft of torque.

UK’s Bee Automotive Announces Plans for 700hp Electric Race Car

British carmaker Bee Automotive has announced plans to revive the BRM brand after 60 years with the creation of a new, high-performance electric race car. Dubbed the BRM Bee Four, this all-electric racer is due to feature a new powertrain developed at Oxford University.

West Race Cars, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is one of the premier makers of race cars on the market. Their latest model, made in conjunction with Kleenspeed Technology, is the WX10-T, an all-electric sport racer.

Update on the Wrightspeed X1 Electric Race Car

Ian Wright, inventor and builder of the Wrightspeed X1 race car we featured not too long ago, has announced that the car will not be manufactured for sale in the foreseeable future. Economic woes, lower gas prices, and other factors have made the car unrealistic to sell on the market.
Mazda’s KAAN Electric Racer Wins Design Award

The KAAN, a race car design from Mazda, looks like a combination of a speed boat and a Klingon vessel from Star Trek (with wheels). It’s name is definitely right out of Sci-Fi. Not sure about those yellow tires either. Could be a stealth device.
At any rate, as goofy as it sounds, this car actually looks kind of cool. I don’t expect any of us will ever be driving one, but it could actually find its way to a race track.
The Wrightspeed X1 Electric Race Car

Those with a true need for speed know that there are only so many things you can do with a car that just isn’t made to go fast. The folks at Wrightspeed think that internal combustion motors are a detriment to true speed. So they eliminated them from their design and went electric with the Wrightspeed X1 electric race car.
