Unable to Build a Green Car, Chrysler Greens Up the Owner’s Manuals Instead

At least the general idea was nice. Chrysler has announced that they will no longer be supplying printed manuals with their vehicles, but will instead include a DVD with electronic versions as well as some instructional videos. This move will save (they say) 20,000 trees per year.

Nissan CEO Says Electric Vehicles Will Only Be 10% of Market in 10 Years

Yet another automotive expert has attempted to explain to people that the electric vehicle will not be the dominant form of transportation in the near future. Back in July, Bosch executives explained how EVs aren’t likely to be a “significant” portion of the motor vehicle market for at least 20 years. Now, Nissan’s CEO has said much the same.

Tesla Motors and AMC Power Up the Electric Motor Show

The first-ever Electric Motor Show starts November 6 in Helsinki, Finland. The show will feature the famous Tesla Roadster and a newcomer to the field, Finland-owned AMC Motors with their Sanifer range of electric vehicles.

Tokyo Testing Electric Taxis

The Japanese government and the city of Tokyo, Japan are teaming with Better Place to test the viability of electric taxi cabs in the city. These taxis are slated to hit the roads as early as January and will utilize Better Place’s battery-swapping system to keep the taxis running 24/7.

Bamboo Taxis in the Phillipines

The mayor of a Philippine city called Tabontabon was tired of seeing so many 3-wheeled motorcycles acting as taxis in his city (and causing accidents). He wanted to make the streets safer, the passengers (mainly tourists) safer, and do it without having to put a lot of money into it or use up a lot of precious resources.
