Amsterdam Has Chosen ChargePoint For EV Charging Stations

The 365-Energy Group, tasked with setting up an electric vehicle infrastructure in the City of Amsterdam, has announced that the city has chosen ChargePoint from Coulomb Technologies for the task. The city plans to install 45 stations as part of an initial demonstration program and, if that’s successful, to expand that to 200-250 more by 2012.

NovaCharge, AVRC and Coulomb Team Up In Virginia and North Carolina

NovaCharge, an authorized channel for ChargePoint Systems from Coulomb Technologies, has teamed up with Advanced Vehicle Research Center (AVRC). This partnership will facilitate the sales of ChargePoint Systems to electric utilities and educational and government agencies in the area.

Coulomb Unveils U.S.’s first Solar-Powered EV Charging Station

Carbon Day Automotive, the midwest distributor for Coulomb Technologies’ ChargePoint stations, has unveiled the nation’s first electric vehicle charging station. Located in the city of Chicago, the charge point uses solar energy to collect power and then send it through the unique ChargePoint Smartlet to customers.

Coulomb Technologies Receives $3.75M Funding

Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure company Coulomb Technologies has just announced that they have received a first round of funding to the tune of $3.75M dollars. The Campbell, CA company has said the round was let by Berlin, Germany-based Estag Capital AG.

First ChargePoint Public EV Charging Stations Open in San Jose, CA

Coulomb, which makes ChargePoint electric vehicle charging stations, has launched its first set of stations in its San Jose, California network. Called “Smartlets,” these parking meter-like poles allow EV owners to park, plug in, and re-charge their vehicles. We covered these Smartlets not too long ago.

Better Place To Build EV Infrastructure in California and Oregon
Better Place, based in Palo Alto, California, has announced deals with both the State of California and the State of Oregon to install a network of electric car power stations throughout both states. These should be ready to go by 2012, which is when most experts are predicting that population centers in those states will have a large population of electric vehicles (all electrics, hybrid-electrics, commuters, etc.).
These are to be done through partnerships with Nissan, Coulomb Technologies, and individual city and county governments and business groups. This couples with the announcement by Nissan that they will be releasing their first electric car in Oregon in 2010.
