ELMOTO HR-2 Hits Europe, Then the USA By 2010

The ELMOTO HR-2 is both an electric bicycle and an electric scooter. This light electric vehicle (LEV) was designed in Germany and due to hit the European market this July. It will then come to America in the spring.

If you’ve supersized it one too many times and are looking for a way to exercise and get healthy again, you’ve probably run into a problem: most bicycles are made for people under 200 pounds. I face this all the time, weighing 245 lbs, and it’s as annoying as all of the cool stuff made only for midgets (I’m 6′3″). Or kids: how come they only make kids-sizes for those cool roller skate shoes? Lame.

I’m going to state this right up front, so there’s no confusion - it’s impossible for me to be objective about the Optibike, so if you’re looking for a balanced review, you’re probably not going to get that here. That being said, I am now free to stand up on my electronic soapbox that is this blog and proclaim this - the Optibike is the best, most advanced, most high-tech, and straight-up the coolest and funnest electric bicycle I have had the pleasure and privilege of riding.
