Chrysler has released their new 5-year plan to get back in the black. While the plan talks about better fuel efficiency and more targeted, focused vehicle models within brands, it says absolutely nothing about electrics or hybrids.
In fact, the release of the 5-year plan coincided with the announcement that the ENVI program (ENVIronment program) was being disbanded and would “live on within Chrysler’s main body.” I think that means they didn’t fire the people in the program, but those people won’t be doing what they were doing before.
One of Chrysler’s first eco-moves once they emerged from bankruptcy was to immediately green up their act. Well, at least, green up their owner’s manuals.
Well, now that Chrysler has proven themselves worthless, we can at least turn to the ever-wonderful Chevy Volt as an excuse for all that bailout cash. It’s not like that car isn’t just a glorified Prius. Right?
