After a lot of fanfare and enticing lead-up, TTXGP finally unveiled their 2010 model TTX02, called the Mavizen, to showcase next year’s TTXGP races. The bike’s official race track debut will be in May when it leads the laps in California to begin the TTXGP US Series.
The Mavizen is extremely unique in that it’s not just a standard motocross or racing circuit ride. In the words of Azhar Hussain, TTXGP founder, says it’s a “laptop on wheels.”
What he means is that the bike is built in a totally modular way–a big step away from many conventional motorcycles and a concept that a lot of electric bike builders like Brammo and Zero Motorcycles have been promoting. Everything on the TTX02 is swappable, even the drive train. The idea is to have race-specific battery packs, drive trains, and (of course) wheels and tires.
Hints were also dropped by the TTXGP team that a motocross version of the bike (TTX03?) may be forthcoming as well.
