In mid-January, America’s largest auto show, the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, will take place. The show will feature the usual suspects and showcases, but will have a special addition: a multi-manufacturer/maker electric vehicles area called “Electric Avenue.”
Without quoting ’80s pop tunes, the idea is somewhat controversial in Motor City. Given the looming date of the show, it’s not likely that many manufacturers will have production electric vehicles to showcase on Electric Ave, but some companies like REVA of India will likely see it as a great chance to showcase their “already out there” wares.
Since the electrics shown at the Frankfurt show this year were such a hit, it’s unlikely that NAIAS will back off from their announced Electric Ave plans.
