New Cars Introduced at Frankfurt Motor Show

The Frankfurt Motor Show is shaping up to be a big one with a lot of European and Asian models debuting, especially as car makers perfect their 2010 models for introduction. This year has several great options in EVs and hybrids.
Peugeot is rolling out their Mitsubishi i-MiEV-based iOn car in Frankfurt along with two new HYbrid4 concepts: the 3008 and the RCZ.
The iOn car is basically a European version of the i-MiEV with a 130km/h maximum speed and a range of about 130km (81mph, 81 miles). The battery pack recharges in about six hours at the European 220 standard and to 80% in about half an hour with a quick charge option. The iOn will be available for purchase in the fourth quarter of 2010.

In spring, 2011, the 3008 HYbrid4 concept will become a reality and the production concept is on hand in Frankfurt. This car is a 4-wheel-drive, 147kW/200bhp crossover vehicle. These have hi-efficiency diesel engines for powering the front wheels while the rear are powered by electric motors in an innovative “wire-controlled” synchronization.
Peugeot’s prototype RCZ HYbrid4, based on the same technology as the 3008, is also on hand at Frankfurt.

REVA is showing off two brand new EV models in Frankfurt as well. Reva Electric Car Company unveiled the NXR, a 4-seat hatchback, due to begin production in 2010 and for which pre-orders will be taken at the show.
They are also showing off the production concept of the NXG, due out in 2011, which is a sporty two-seat runner with a targa roof.
This is likely just the beginning of the unveilings to be announced in Frankfurt!
