MotoCzysz plans to premier a new electric motorcycle prototype in the upcoming TTXGP, the E1PC. Michael Czysz has given a little more information on the bike in an interview with Motorcycle Daily.
The E1PC idea started when an employee of MotoCzysz got permission to borrow a Yamaha YZF-R1 frame and built an electric motorcycle, planning to enter it in the TTXGP. From this idea, Czysz liked the prospect and the company decided to design an electric motorcycle from the ground up. So the E1PC was born.
The design of this bike is leading to the design of several more electric motorcycles that the company plans to bring to market. The framework for the E1PC is modular, allowing for many variants in its work, so the company thinks they can build and market these quickly.
Czysz says that the first entry-level model will likely sell for under $20,000 for around-town riding. He envisions that being the smallest, with another model being more like a touring model (ala Honda Goldwing) at the $50,000 mark and, of course, racing and track-centric models as well.
It will be interesting to see what MotoCzysz brings to the TTXGP next month.
