John is a fuel economy technical expert at the Ford Motor Company and a member of the forums at EcoModder, good friends of Zoomilife. By day, he’s a Ford Engineer, by night… a HyperRocket building genius.
The HyperRocket he built is a 3-wheeled motorcycle that seats two, gets 125mpg (at 65mph) and has a top speed of over 100mph. John put 3,200 miles on the machine and now he wants to build the next generation, which will be a plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
First, he needs to clear shop space, so he’s put the HyperRocket on eBay. As of this writing, the auction has only seven hours to go.
The HyperRocket weighs 505 pounds, has a six-speed manual transmission, uses a Kawasaki Ninja drive train, and has a coefficient of drag (Cd) of 0.16.
