This month, select West Coast Best Buy stores will begin carrying Brammo Enertia electric motorcycles. We reported on that in March, but now we’re finding out that Best Buy plans to carry other EVs as well.
Some Best Buy stores are currently carrying Segway models. Some mobility scooters are also available by special order at Best Buy and the trend doesn’t seem to be stopping there.
Recent rumors seen on BNET Auto Blog and industry pundits seem to be pointing to Best Buy perhaps making EVs a larger part of their offerings. This would definitely set them apart from some competition, though other rumors say that Wal-Mart’s Sam’s Club stores may be carrying some NEVs and many Wal-Mart stores already carry electric bicycles.
The difference here may be that Best Buy could become more of an electric vehicle dealership, of sorts. Sort of a one-stop electronics shopping destination. Get your plasma screen, your Xbox games, and an electric motorcycle all in one stop!
