The first of the X Rider electric motorcycles from Xtreme Green will be shipping this June and the company has announced that they’re now taking pre-orders. These electric bikes qualify for a $2,500 federal tax credit and can travel up to 95 miles on a full charge.
The X Rider’s top speed is 65mph and it uses a 4,000W hub motor and can carry up to 330 pounds. It utilizes LiFPO4 batteries good for 2,000 charges.
These are pretty impressive machines. For full specs, see our article from when the X Rider debuted onto the world stage. It hasn’t changed much.
Except for one breaking announcement from Xtreme Green at the last minute: the motors are seeing a huge upgrade. They’re going from a 40ah/4kW motor 60ah/4.5kW motor (still brushless).
No new numbers on mileage changes yet, but this boosts the power to comply with federal regulations so that the X Rider will be eligible for $3,334 in tax credits. That’s nearly half it’s cost in credits and the company informs us that their original $7,999 price tag stays put. Awesome!
Go to Xtreme Green to find out about getting one today.
