X-Treme Scooters Announces New X-Treme XM-4000Li Electric Moped

The XM-4000Li electric moped is the latest from X-Treme Scooters for 2009. It’s similar to the XM-5000Li we reviewed back in January, but with a key difference: the motor is 4,000 watts rather than 5,000 (hence the model number). While this might seem like a downgrade, this model boasts much lighter weight than the 5000Li and has a lower price point to match.

The XM-4000Li is street-legal, recognized by the DOT, and 25% more powerful than the XM-3500Li model it’s replaced. It weighs about the same as the older model, but has more power and torque. It’s got the same frame and styling as all of the higher-end X-Treme moped models and comes in blue, red, or black.
These scooters are not toys, so you’ll need a license to ride one. The units ship with VIN and MCO certificates so you’ll need to register yours with the local Department of Motor Vehicles for licensing.
Here’s the specs for this new bike:
- 4,000W, 40A, 60V
- 20 Lithium-ion Batteries, 40Ah
- 50mph top speed
- 60 mile range per charge
- ABS hydraulic disc brakes
- Controller, Smart Charger, etc. included
- 300lb curb weight
- 6 month scooter, 2 year battery, and 1 year motor warranties.
The XM-4000Li electric moped is available from authorized X-Treme retailers now at a retail price of $4,500.
