It looks like Vectrix hit the market at exactly the wrong time with their line of PHEV and EV scooters. The product line from Vectrix is awesome, but the recession and their position as a startup are apparently putting them in a world of hurt.
The company plans to lay off about 60 people from it’s workforce. Not sure how many they have, but that could be as many as half by some accounts. The company’s stock is no longer being traded in London for failure to submit disclosure.
The company has publicly stated that they are looking for “strategic alternatives” like a merger or a sale. This could mean two things for the burgeoning EV company: it could disappear into the folds of a much larger company or it could merger with a strategic partner (say a battery or motor supplier) and stay relatively the same.
In either case, our hope is that the Vectrix line of scooters will remain on the market. They’re some of the best offerings we’ve seen in this niche.
