ELMOTO HR-2 Hits Europe, Then the USA By 2010

The ELMOTO HR-2 is both an electric bicycle and an electric scooter. This light electric vehicle (LEV) was designed in Germany and due to hit the European market this July.  It will then come to America in the spring.

One look at this bike says “wow, that’s awesome looking.” The unique frame is aluminum alloy with a brushless 1.7kW motor and a li-ion battery pack.  The bike is capable of about 30mph for 40 miles range, pedal assisted.  It charges to 80% in 2 hours and to full in 4.

It includes all of the high-end things you’d expect from a bike like this, with Marzocchi suspension, an instrument panel similar to a motorcycle, and all around top-notch components. The bike will sell in Europe for about $4,400USD (equivalent) and could be available in limited numbers in the U.S. before Christmas.
