The first European sales office for Tesla Motors will be in London, England and will open this summer. Located at 49-51 Cheval Place, in the heart of Knightsbridge, the store will feature models for test drive as well as pre-order sales.
Other European stores will be in Monaco and Germany. Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk says: “We expect that Tesla sales will eventually be split evenly between the US and Europe.”
While no word on whether the Roadster will have a “right hand drive” version has been given, it’s likely in the works since both the Roadster and the Model S platforms are not engine or transmission placement dependent like gasoline vehicles are.
The UK is proposing a 2,00GBP inentive (tax break) for alt fuel and electric vehicles that would apply to Tesla purchases. That’s roughly $3,000USD, for those who’re counting.
