The Honda FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel-cell car won this year’s World Car of the Year Award. The panel of jurors from around the world’s automotive magazines gave the coveted award to the Clarity after considering all three finalists on merits of environmental impact, innovation, and style.
The other two finalists were the Toyota iQ and the Mitsubishi i MiEV. All three cars, to qualify, were released for consumer sales during 2008.
I think this is a great pick and definitely shows that the panelists are willing to look beyond the “battery only” hype and see that the future of EVs is not tied only to lithium-ion.
