In stunning news today, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk was seen at the Fisker headquarters in southern California today and drove out of their garage in a brand new Karma. When questioned at a stop light about his driving the car, Musk rolled up his window and sped away. We were unable to catch up in our Smart ForTwo.
We did catch up with Musk’s secretary later, however, and spoke with her at length “off the record.” She stated that the Tesla boss had been jealous of the superior styling of the Karma ever since it was revealed last year. She further said that he had told her he was “going to get a Coke and fries” when he left the office, not to return that day.
A friend at the bank where Musk does business confirms that he did, indeed, write a check for the purchase of a new Fisker Karma.
BREAKING NEWS: We update this story to tell you that we’ve just received an email with a dynamite audio recording of Musk on the phone with an unknown person (presumably a salesman at Fisker) talking about the Karma and how awesome it is. We’ll post it as soon as we’ve got it on the server!
