In 2007, this concept was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show as a clean diesel machine. It was basically a small diesel engine with a variable geometry turbo and a dual-clutch transmission. If it had stayed like that, it probably would never have been mentioned on this site.
But it isn’t staying like that. According to Autocar magazine, Mitsubishi plans to re-introduce the concept at the Tokyo Motor Show in October and this time, the cX design will be a plug-in hybrid. They’ll be changing its name to Concept zC, but will look very similar to the cX.
In looks, it appears to be a mashup between an older-style Dodge Charger and a PT Cruiser. We’ll be looking forward to seeing this one when it’s released.
