Heuliez, which crashed the Paris Motor Show last fall with their surprise EV the Friendly (a sort of car/van mashup) has now made the Friendly available for order online, through their website.
Orders opened on March 12th and have proceeded well. The vehicle is a 3-seat NEV that uses NiMH batteries, giving it a 100km range (a higher-end model gets more than double that). Base price is 12,000 Euros (about $15,500USD), but only 10 Euros need be deposited to get on the list.
Deliveries of the new EV will begin in February, 2010.
This is the second French EV to go on sale this month, with Pininfarnia/Bollore offering their little BlueCar earlier this month. That one leases for 330 Euros a month and has a 255km range (155 miles).
Good news for the French!
