Tesla has announced that the Model S will be priced at $57,400 (base), rather than at $60k as originally stated. The reason for the price drop? After government incentives, the price of the S will be under $50k and the company has streamlined much of their supply chain.
This comes on the heels of Tesla Motors having high hopes of being solvent (out of the red) by mid-year, though sluggish sales and dropped orders might be changing that.
Speaking of which, have you got a number in line for a new Tesla Roadster? A recent eBay auction for an undelivered roadster (with a sub-200 number) sold on eBay for over $160,000. You could stand to make some money if you’ve got one you want to get out from under!
