On the tail of recent announcements by Nissan regarding their push for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) comes the announcement at the Show that the NV2500 and NV200 (both of which unveiled in Geneva this week) will be slated for possible U.S. releases next year.
The NV200 is a compact mini-van based on the B-segment platform Nissan sells in Europe as the Micra (gasoline and diesel powered). It’s a 7-passenger van that can also be configured as a cargo van with up to 145 cubic feet of cargo space.
The initial release of the van will be in it’s gasoline form, but Nissan has said they have plans to make a conversion to EV, especially for the cargo van model. The NV2500, while it will see release in North America as a gasoline and diesel model, will not go electric. Lame.
