EVT America’s Electric Scooters

EVT America is a distributor for the EVT Technology Co., Ltd. EVT America is located in Miami, Florida and offers four models of electric scooters/mopeds and motorcycles.
They have dealers and repair centers all over the states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, and even Hawaii. The company’s scooters and parts come from China.
Let’s have a look at their four models.
The R-30

This is a Vespa-like electric with some pretty cool style for those who like that look. The 2009 model is listed as a “motorcycle,” though optional pedals can be attached to make it a true moped. It’s top speed is 45mph with a range of about 35 miles per charge. The bike comes in 2 colors: red and blue.
These scooters use a 3,000W brushless hub motor and the bike has a maximum payload of about 319 pounds on its 321 pound base (curb weight). There’s an optional windshield and trunk kit (the trunk is a rear box that fits behind the seat). Under-seat storage comes built in. The batteries are lead-acid motorcycle 12v, so they’re easy and inexpensive to replace. The price tag for this is $3,150 delivered (anywhere in the 48).
The Z-30

This is a more modern styled scooter that has more of today’s “scooter not-so-geek” look. It’s not as powerful as the R-30, but has roughly the same specs for speed and range. It’s a lighter unit, so the less powerful motor doesn’t mean less go.
As with the R-30, the top speed is 45mph and the average range is 35 miles per charge. The motor is a 2500W brushless hub unit. The bike weighs ten pounds less than the R-30, but retains the same payload maximum. Batteries and other specs are the same. The price for this one is also $3,150 delivered.
The 4000e

Similar to the Z-30, this scooter has modern styling, but is much lighter and smaller. It also comes in more colors and is meant to appeal to the trendier crowd. The top speed is 30mph and the range is about 30 miles average per charge. It uses a small 1,500W brushed hub motor. The company is still selling the 2007 model. This one sells for $2,899 delivered.
The 168

This is another retro-styled, Vespa-like unit similar to the R-30, but with a lower price tag and smaller specs. Like the 4000e, it’s an NEV-only with a top speed of 30mph and a range of about 30 miles per charge. It also uses a 1,500W brushed hub motor.
It’s curb weight is 280 pounds (with batteries) and it comes in 2 colors (forest green and silver). In my opinion, this scooter is the best-looking of the lot at EVT America. The specs are basically identical to the 4000e. This one also sells for $2,899 delivered (48 states).
Other Info on EVT America’s Scooters
Some other information on these machines might be useful too. First, they all have an LED gauge on the dash to indicate power levels. Warning beeps let you know when you’re under 10%.
The higher-end models (2009s) include a smart charger which speeds up the charging process and goes into “trickle” mode when the batteries are full. The other two models have standard chargers that require manual unplugging when charge is complete. Most of these units have a 5-8 hour charge time to full at 110v.
All EVT America vehicles are DOT compliant federally, so it’s only up to local and state restrictions as to what you can do with them. Obviously, they aren’t freeway-legal.
