General Motors currently has six hybrid electric vehicles and the much-anticipated Chevrolet Volt will hit the streets late next year. Based on the Volt’s powertrain (assuming it sells well, I’d imagine), GM will be introducing at least four more vehicles using the plug-in hybrid technology by 2012.
While not releasing any details on what kinds of vehicles these will be, GM has made it clear that the number of alternative-fueled vehicles in their line will increase dramatically over the next six to ten years. They plan to have 26 hybrid, PHEV, all-electric, and other alternative-fuel vehicles on the market by 2014.

This would include the Opel Ampera, which will debut in Geneva in March and will likely come to America not long after.
