Closer Look: Skeuter Light Electric Vehicle Products

Skeuter’s Condor electric scooter/moped
Skeuter Products, in Los Angeles, California, sells their exclusive light electric vehicles (electric scooters, electric bicycles, and even an e-tricycle), of which they have six models to choose from, world-wide. The models range in style, ability, and options, so there’s probably something here to fit just about anyone’s needs.
Needless to say, I found that they have scooter models that I like and some that I don’t. That’s the joy of having options. I’m not a big scooter/moped fan, but I’m coming around to some of the newer models I’ve seen lately and Skeuter definitely has some nice ones. I might even use the word “cool” to describe a couple of ‘em.
The Bee

Starting at the top of the list, the Bee is Skeuter’s highest-end model and, consequently, has the dumbest name. The short list of specs includes:
- 600 or optional 1500 Watt 48v/26a brushless motor
- Foxx Lithium batteries
- 30mph top speed (1500W)
- 4-6 hour charge time (110v)
- 35 mile average range
This one’s pretty nice, with near motorcycle looks and great color schemes to choose from. It’s fully DMV licenseable and affordable at $1,500 to $1,800 (depending on options).
The Hornet
Similar to the Bee, this model is styled more like a modern scooter in looks, but has much the same specs otherwise. In fact, it’s innards are almost exactly the same. The price point is the same as the Bee. This one probably appeals to the more “trendy” crowd who prefer the looks of a traditional scooter.
The Condor

If you like the style of a Vespa scooter, then you’ll love the Condor. It’s an extremely retro scoot with great style and lots of chrome. While I personally don’t like the Vespaesque trend, this look has a lot of appeal to many people, so I can see how this one could be a best-seller. Some specs:
- 48v/26a lead-acid OR
- Foxx Lithium 20/30 batteries
- 1500W Brushless motor
- 110v or 220v charging (4-6 hours)
- 30mph top speed
- 40 miles per charge average
Like the other scooters so far, it has storage below the seat, but also has a rack behind the sissy rest on the double seat. The price for this one is about $2,100.
The Swift

Call me a nerd, but I like this model the best of the offerings from Skeuter. It’s actually an electric bicycle, not a scooter, though it might be considered a “moped” by some. It has useful features like a cartridge battery that can be swapped quickly for a fresh one and a 10-12mph speed without pedaling. Here’s some specs:
- Front basket, rear luggage rack, and locakble storage pod all included.
- Integrated head and tail lights for safety.
- 110v recharging (4hrs for full charge)
It’s a great solution for university students or around-towners who don’t need a full-sized EV to get around. Plus it circumvents most motor vehicle laws. It’s priced around $1,500.
The Trio

This is also an electric bicycle, but is a three-wheeled (trike) model. It’s styling is different from the Swift in other ways as well. The extra-large storage basket on the back might make this a more viable solution for errand-running, but it’s extra size will make it harder to park and more likely to be subject to motor vehicle restrictions. Specs are nearly the same as the Swift. Some differences:
- 20 mile range
- 20mph top speed (all-electric)
- 5 hour full charge time (110v)
- Optional DMV license plate holder available
Price point for this one is closer to $2,000.
The Breeze
This is a much more traditional bicycle in electric form. The design itself, as far as looks, is nothing unusual. It’s a basic mountain bike in street form with electric assist. The battery pack rides behind the seat on the back of the frame. It’s a nice frame and body with Shimano parts and alloy build. Here’s some specs:
- 350W brushed DC motor (optional brushless available)
- Pure electric run available (optional model)
- 34v/7ah NiMH battery with 36v 10a Li-ion optional
- 4-6 hour charge time (110v)
- 35km/h top speed
- 45km+ range in assist mode
This bike has a few nice features and generic styling, so it will appeal to some. It’s priced around $1,400.
The range of options and models available from Skeuter is pretty impressive and fun to look at. The company appears to be doing well, selling both nationally and internationally. Hopefully, we’ll see some more interesting stuff from Skeuter soon.
