If you want a Tesla Roadster and aren’t interested in standing in line for months waiting your turn, there may be a way to butt in AND help charity at the same time. Talk to your tax man about whether your entire Tesla purchase is a writeoff, though.
Charity Buzz, sort of the eBay of charity auctions, is auctioning off a Tesla Roadster to be built in 3-4 months for the Happy Hearts Fund. Happy Hearts is a fund that gives grants to small, localized charities worldwide that help children’s education by establishing schools, recruiting teachers, etc.
At the time of this writing, the Roadster’s auction at Charity Buzz had 15 bidders already and only 3 and a half days left. It’s currently up to $125,000. The auction listing is a little dated with Roadster info, so you may want to email them to find out if this package is still “available” (since Tesla changed their specs not long ago).
If you’re looking to grab a Roadster but don’t want to wait a year to get it, this might be a great way to do it AND help a worthy charity. Check out the auction and bid!
