Opel has announced that it will unveil a new electric car called the Ampera at the Geneva Motor Show, happening in Switzerland between March 5-15 this year.
The Ampera is due to be a five-door, four-seat REV - it will operate exclusively from Lithium-Ion batteries for up to forty miles, then use a small on-board gasoline engine to recharge the batteries and provide power to the electric motors, much like the much-famed Chevy Volt.
Very little additional information is forthcoming about this vehicle, but chances are we’ll never see it in the U.S., as the Opel brand is not sold in America.
