The small “city” of Eagle, Idaho (anyone who’s been there knows that the word “city” is loosely applied) will be getting Vectrix scooters for their police officers to test. The scooters, on loan from a local Harley-Davidson dealer, will be outfitted as their New York City counterparts: with police decals, lights, etc.
The move is expected to save the city some gas money as well as help combat crimes that are harder to deal with from a cruiser (which criminals look for), such as vandalism and petty theft. Other areas of interest are parks and downtown areas with narrow streets and more traffic.
The idea of electric scooters will likely catch on as more and more police departments around the country start to shine on the idea. For some uses, these scooters are a perfect choice for the local PD.
