Concept Car Lets you Work Out While You Drive

GYM Concept Car

Why waste money at the gym when you can get your workout done while you commute? That’s the concept behind this vehicle design from Da Feng, a design student at Coventry University in England.

The car combines an electric vehicle, which looks pretty radical from the outside already, and a driver’s seat that is both a bench press and a pull up bar. The steering column and pedals can be used as a rowing machine or stair stepper, and all of this energy being expended during the driver’s workout is translated into electricity for the car’s power.

GYM Concept Car

Appropriately called the GYM concept car, this vehicle is envisioned as a one-seater urban commuter. The interior workout room notwithstanding, the car’s exterior design itself is inspiring. With a lot of rough lines and sporty looks, this one looks sleek and tough and infinitely drive-able. The magnesium-alloy chassis and low build promise speed and light weight.

Definitely out-of-the-box thinking here, though it’s likely a concept that will never be built. Pretty cool nonetheless.
