While the question of whether Boy George will be re-releasing his hit song as “Karma, Karma, Karma Conver-ti-bllllle” is left unanswered, Fisker has finally unveiled the new convertible version of the Karma.
Deliveries of the original, hard-topped Karma are slated for the end of this year with 1,500 orders already in and Fisker hoping to produce 15,000 cars yearly. The new model, the Karma-S, is a hard-topped convertible of the original Karma and won’t be available until 2011. Karma is likely waiting to see how their first model does before committing to producing new ones.

The car is basically a Karma with a few design improvements, including the convertible rooftop which folds back automatically into the trunk. Solar panels were absent on the model shown in Detroit today, but Fisker says they will be integrated with the production version.
The Karma-S has the same hybrid-electric drive train and Q-Drive technology as its predecessor, so will likely have the same range and capabilities. The “S” is for “Sunset,” by the way.
I apologize for getting you stuck on that song.
