The Field Trial for the Mini-E electric car is the only time you’ll see this little EV in production. Many were extremely excited about this little car going electric and it generated a lot of hype. BMW decided to deflate that hype and show everyone that the Germans are not at all interested in actually selling a car people want. So the technology the Mini E is testing will be used, instead, in another BMW model and a Mini-E production car will not be made available.
Good thing they aren’t begging for bailout money like some US automakers are right now, or I’d call my Senator and tell him to shove this in their face.
As it is, the electric system being tested in the limited run of Mini E’s slated to hit streets in California and New York next year will find its way into a… yep, you guessed it, SUV model (X1 and X3 series).
Good going, Beamer. I wonder if their marketing department even speaks English?
