Swedish Biker Babe Does Electric Motorcycles

What could be hotter than a Swedish blond biker babe? How about one who does electric conversions of those motorcycles? Ooooh ya!
Meet Eva Hakansson and her Electrocat. She’s self-described as a “hardcore EV geek.” She built Electrocat with her father, Sven, and it’s the first documented street-legal electric motorcycle in Sweden. The bike started life as a 1990 Cagiva Freccia C12R, but now it’s all Eva’d out.

Better Place To Build EV Infrastructure in California and Oregon
Better Place, based in Palo Alto, California, has announced deals with both the State of California and the State of Oregon to install a network of electric car power stations throughout both states. These should be ready to go by 2012, which is when most experts are predicting that population centers in those states will have a large population of electric vehicles (all electrics, hybrid-electrics, commuters, etc.).
These are to be done through partnerships with Nissan, Coulomb Technologies, and individual city and county governments and business groups. This couples with the announcement by Nissan that they will be releasing their first electric car in Oregon in 2010.

Miles Electric Vehicles Introduces XS500 Electric Sedan

Want a normal-looking car that’s all-electric and can actually do highway speeds and longer ranges? Maybe you also want it to cost less than $35,000 and seat five? All of this assumes you don’t work for the government (Condoleeza Rice) or have your own TV show (Jay Leno) so that you can afford a Tesla Roadster.

Fisker’s Karma Electric Hybrid Sedan

Fisker made some big splashes when their Karma Electric Sedan, which definitely gives Tesla’s Roadster a run for its money in style, debuted in a big way at a Detroit auto show. The car, designed by the famous Fisker Design Group in Irvine, California, in that incarnation was a hybrid-electric four-door sedan-styled sports car. It got rave reviews in several automotive magazines.

Mercedez-Benz Announces S400 Hybrid Sedan

Jumping on the hybrid vehicles bandwagon, Mercedez-Benz has released their S400 BlueHybrid to the European market and will be introducing it in North America in 2009 as the 2010 model. They claim it will be the world’s most economical luxury sedan with a spark-ignition engine.
