This has got to be one of the coolest electric motorcycles / electric bicycles / electric whatevers that I’ve ever seen. It’s an electric motorcycle, but instead of controlling the throttle via the handgrip, you PEDAL to make the motorcycle go faster. And it recharges the motor while you pedal.
Invented by an Austrian Stefan Gulas, the ErockIT is custom-made and is available for sale in Europe. Check out a video of the ErockIT bike in action.
UPDATE: For those of you that have been asking - the ErockIT has a top speed of about 50mph and costs 30,000 Euro, or about $45,000 (yes, that’s not a typo - these devices are handmade by the inventor himself). While I cannot find any information on the ‘net about range, I would estimate based on my experience with similar classes of devices that this thing probably has about a 40 mile range tops. If any of you find out for sure, please leave a comment!
